Rosa Carmeli – Gregorian Chant to Our Lady of Carmel
Rosa Carmeli – Gregorian Chant to Our Lady of Carmel
On July 16th the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Carmel, and so the sisters of the Heralds of the Gospel sing this Gregorian chant in honour of the "Rose of Carmel". "Rosa Carmeli" is the name of this beautiful Gregorian chant in honour and praise of the Mother of God. The lyrics of this Gregorian chant are here below:
Rose of Carmel, O flowering
Mary! Into your chamber
lead us and, after
our death, to heaven guide us, O Mary!
Root of Jesse from which
has sprung a little flower,
here I am to become
your slave. Among the thorns
you blossom
like a lily. Keep pure
the mind of the weakest, O
Protectress!
In uncertainties, you are prudent,
in adversities
perennial and inexhaustible
consolation. Strong armour
of warriors! Protect with the Scapular
those who go forth to fight.
O sweet Mother, and Virgin
most pure, help the Christians,
O Star of the Sea!
Key and door to Paradise,
obtain for us the crown
of glory.
